On June 16-18, 2008, «WiMAX Forum-2008» World Congress organized by WiMAX Forum Association and Informa Telecoms & Media (UK) was held in Amsterdam (The Netherlands).
More than 600 delegates from 50 countries took part in this World Congress. Over 50 reports and presentations were made at the Congress. They dealt with main achievements in the area of WiMAX technology and business development, equipment and its certification, intellectual property rights and impact on mobile Internet penetration in future, global roaming applications and services, wireless business market features, spectrum use and its regulation to the benefit of WiMAX development, budgeting, and prospects for the development of subscriber terminals and devices. Prof. Valery Tikhvinskiy, Chairman of the RANS ITT, attended the Congress.
