4th Annual International Workshop "Automated Planning and Optimization of 2G/3G Radio and Transport Subsystems of Mobile Communication and Broadband Wireless Access Networks. Topical issues"

On June 25-26, 2008, the 4th Annual International Workshop “Automated Planning and Optimization of 2G/3G Radio and Transport Subsystems of Mobile Communication and Broadband Wireless Access Networks. Topical issues.” organized by OJSC “InfoTel” was held in St. Petersburg (Russia).
More than 50 participants from three countries (Russia, Ukraine and Sweden) representing manufacturers of radio planning software systems (OJSC “InfoTel”, Radio Innovation Sweden AB, etc.), operators (CJSC “SkyLink”, OJSC “MTS”, OJSC “Megafon”, OJSC “VimpelCom”, Tele2, OJSC “Uralsvyazinform”,CJSC “Nizhegorodskaya sotovaya svyaz” CJSC “SMARTS”, etc.) and scientific centers (RANS ITT branch, State University of Telecommunications named after Prof. M.A. Bonch-Bruevich, etc.) attended the workshop.
The workshop dealt with issues of further mobile communication development in context of decisions taken at WRC-2007, technical approach to planning and optimization of mobile communication networks, 3G planning features, and mobile communication network construction cost cutting.
The results of the ONEPLAN software technical support and cartographical support of mobile communication network planning and optimization were discussed at the workshop. Software systems ONEPLAN RPLS-XML, version 2008.2, and ONEPLAN RPLS-DB (Link, RFP, and 3G), network version, were presented and demonstrated.
More than 20 reports were presented at the workshop.
