A workshop on mobile and wireless communication development organized by the Kazakh Academy of Transport

On July 7-9, 2008, a workshop onmobile and wireless communication development organized by the Kazakh Academy of Transport and Communication named after M. Tineshpaev in association with the RANS ITT branch and JSC “BT Consult” was held in JSC “Republican Center of Space Communication and Radio Electronic Means EMC”, Astana (Kazakhstan). Opening remarks were made by V.D. Lefter, President of JSC “Republican Center of Space Communication and Radio Electronic Means EMC”.
The following issues were discussed at the workshop: influence of WRC-2007 results on mobile and wireless communication development, radio frequency spectrum usage pattern in the range of 2 to 5 GHz for mobile and wireless communication networks on international and national levels, methods and programs of mobile and wireless communication network EMC calculation, and features of WiMAX network frequency-territorial planning in urban areas.
The workshop was attended by representatives of JSC “Republican Center of Space Communication and Radio Electronic Means EMC”, RANS ITT branch, Kazakh Academy of Transport and Communication named after M. Tineshpaev, JSC “BT Consult”, “KCell” national mobile operator, and “Information Telecommunication Networks” journal.
More than 10 reports and presentations were made at the workshop (www.raenitt.ru).
The RANS ITT branch took part in the workshop and presented several reports. The reports are available upon request.
