Regular meeting of the RANS. The issues discussed included: convocation of the Academy General Meeting and election of its President, and co-operation with scientific and educational institutions of Kazakhstan

On September 10, 2008, a regular meeting of the RANS (Russian Academy of Natural Sciences) Presidium was held in Moscow.

The issues discussed included: convocation of the Academy General Meeting and election of its President, and co-operation with scientific and educational institutions of Kazakhstan.

During the meeting «An Agreement on Scientific and Technological Cooperation» between the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (RANS) and the Kazakh Academy of Infocommunications (KAI) was signed. The Agreement was prepared on the initiative of the RANS branch «Information and Telecommunications Technologies» (RANS ITT).

Before the agreement was signed, reports on prospects for cooperation between the Academies in the sphere of infocommunications had been made by RANS President Prof. O.L. Kuznetsov, Doctor of Technical Sciences, RANS Academician, KAI President Sh.Zh. Seilov, Doctor of Science, Economics, and RANS ITT branch Chairman Prof. V.O. Tikhvinskiy, Doctor of Science, Economics, RANS Academician.  

The Agreement makes provisions for co-operation between RANS and KAI in the following spheres of science and technology which are of mutual interest:

  • Development of new interfaces and network technologies for wireless broadband access;
  • Development of new interfaces and network technologies for mobile communication of 4th and 5th generations;
  • Development of new interfaces and network technologies for mobile digital television;
  • Development of applications (software) for infocommunication technologies;
  • Creation of innovative solutions in the area of antenna technologies which increase efficiency of wireless broadband access and mobile communication networks using nanotechnologies;
  • Elaboration of conceptual questions of wireless broadband access and mobile communication networks convergence;
  • Study of interference immunity and spectral efficiency of wireless broadband access and mobile communication networks;  
  • Elaboration of standard technical documents in the sphere of infocommunications in compliance with the Law “On Technical Regulation”.
